Dianne is a part-time registered nurse who shares her knowledge of tribal whakapapa and history. She has lived in Gisborne most of her life.
Of Turanganui-a-Kiwa, Ngati Porou, Ngati Kahungungu, Ngai Tai and Whanau-a-Apanui tangata whenua descent, and Irish, Scottish, Danish and German descent, she is the eldest girl and second eldest of a family of 13.
Her interests range from health research innovations (mainly Mental Health and Addictions), Māori Health, Whanauora and Wairuatanga (local tribal perspectives) to local history pre- and post-European and whakapapa.
She enjoys reading, cooking gourmet dishes and teaching tamariki and rangatahi about cooking and their identity around local tribal whakapapa/history.
