Opening Ceremony and Breakfast

Join us at the ‘Cut’ for a ceremony to launch the opening of the Te Hā Commemoration Events Programme.

Horouta and Mareikura will open the ceremony with a mass paddle down the Turanganui River and along the Waikanae Beach followed by an interdemnominational blessing and performance by the Gisborne Concert Band, finishing with a rousing parade led by the Gisborne Civic Brass Band back to the Waikanae Surf Life Saving Club for breakfast.
