Recycle Waka Day

Nau mai haere mai. Come and join in a fun filled day for whanau on the river.

  • Make your own waka out of recycled materials and bring it down to the Marina and compete in the Recycle Waka race!. There will be prizes for the winner and the coolest looking waka.
  • Tamariki ma make a cute boat out of a walnut shell and race it down the river.
  • Compete to see who is the fastest person to take a waka apart and put it back together again.
  • Watch some exciting waka ama races.

Proudly supported and organised by Smokefree in association with Te Aka Ora, Cancer Society and Horouta Waka.
