Visual artists focus on Te Hā's 2017 theme, the impact of settlement upon the native flora and fauna of Te Tairāwhiti. Four awards, totalling $6000 in prize money, are sponsored by Gisborne’s Pultron Composites and Professor Jack Richards.

Entry to the awards is free and all work must be received at Tairāwhiti Museum by 28 September 2017.

Te Hā Open Art Award 2017 (all ages), $3000

Te Hā Youth Art Award 2017 (up to 12 years of age), $500 (bothsponsored by Pultron Composites

Te Hā Highly Recommended Art Award 2017, $1500

Te Hā People’s Choice Art Award 2017, $1000 (both sponsored by Professor Jack C Richards)
