The Te Hā 1769 Sestercentennial Trust is working with our communities to co-ordinate programmes to commemorate the 250th anniversary of first meetings between Māori and Europeans on and off the shores of Tairāwhiti/Gisborne - and to celebrate our ancestors’ feats in exploring the world's largest ocean.
We are looking for an innovative, versatile General Manager to manage this exciting opportunity for our region and help us enhance the social, cultural, ecological and economic aspects of our region. They will support plans to generate meaningful legacies for the region’s communities and enable Tairāwhiti/ Gisborne to host world-class national and local commemorative events in 2019.

An integral component of the role is the ability to work closely with key national and local stakeholders. Therefore, strategic and political astuteness; confidence in public speaking; strong relationship-building skills; and a proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving are essential.
As the Trust relies on local and national government funding, the General Manager will continue to refine the funding strategy to secure resources for sustaining operational and project plans.
